Sorry no update for a while

Internet was down for a bit. But it is now back up, no thanks to comcast. I will also apparently be receiving no compensation as they "determined" that their modem had not been faulty but that it was actually tampered with. Had I at any point done this I wouldn't be mad as I have been known to tinker with stuff. However this is not the case here. So keep in mind this information when next you chose a service provider.

The design

The design of the mech is quite reminiscent of the Catapult mech from the mech warrior series though there are a few very glaring differences. First the joint system will be Ball-joint, this allows for a wider range of motion and thought sometimes harder to work with, will make it that much more of a payoff in the end. Second the shoulder mounted missile system- GONE, those things are just begging to get blown off. The itty bitty arms/ legs, these will be bulkier, while this will add weight in the end this will add a ton of durability. The rest of the differences are minor. The foot layout will be different. I plan to make it "army applicable" (because seriously what is a civ gonnna do with a mech?) the back will be able to hold a "backpack" filled with whatever calibur of belt fed ammo they wanna put in there. each "forearm" will have a gun barrel going down the length of it and considering the barrel length this would be VERY accurate. I plan on giving it a "head" not sure why, but I never liked the catapult because it had no head.

well crap

I didn't get ANYTHING done today or yesterday. Right now I'm leaning towards M.O.I.S.T. for the project codename. Now here is the thing I need some brainstorming on what it stands for, it is okay if it ends up being like M.O.i.S.T. or something where one of the letters is just there and not really part of the project title.

Project Title

I need a "codename" for the mech. The hovercraft is in its building stages and I will have pictures up next week with me and some others hovering around on it.

I need some input guys and gals. There is a problem that isn't so much a problem so much as a style choice I must make. For the mech what controls should I use? The most obvious being a throttle/ joystick setup. Or should I go the extra mile or 10 and make it a holodeck type of room? This would be complete by a monitor that surrounds the entire room. Progress on the mech

Alright I'm still putting out a call for names for the mech project as it's still just called "mech" on all accounts. I've designed a basic system of how its put together on autodesk inventor, mocked it walking on 3ds max, and viewed how itd look by rendering it in maya. so far so good. Ive decided to use ball joints with a series of pneumatics to provide movement. It will have the ability to side step though I haven't devised a way for it to not tip over yet. This is also up for suggestion.


I have spent the better part of the day applying to new jobs on monster as well as craigslist. On a subject that i haven't covered yet. The new beds in minecraft are GREAT. I mean no more waiting 10ish minutes if you're trying to do a project outside for the sun to come back up, and this is all determinate that you don't play on peaceful because that's just no fun.
